Hi

another day from spread betting hell with the portfolio down another £200 or so. I've lost count of the stop outs and I've reached the stage where I'm not losing any sleep over this. At the present rate of attrition I'll be 'out of the game' in another 6 or 7 days. The frustrating thing is that we're all at the mercy of circumstance and there's nothing that can be done....

Account funds £1750 (and falling at an average of £150-200/day)! Can I manage a year in spread betting - well I'm not holding my breath....

See you tomorrow for another day of solid RED!

This is a great diary Al, and your latest instalments show how important it is to be level-headed about this spread betting business. I remember, not so long ago, people thinking "Wow! How does Alan do it?" just like they may have been thinking about me in H2 2009.

I like the phrase "Optimism is hoping for the best whereas confidence is being able to handle the worst."

While I'm not excited about the fact that I have lost about £1000 since Jan 2010 in my demo portfolio, it's small beer compared with the previous (and future anticipated) gains. I've been careful (relatively), kept my head, kept plenty of powder dry behind the scenes, and 'stayed in the game'. I hope you do the same.

Good luck.

Tony.
