Hi again well what an amazing performance on the FTSE today gaining a massive 114 points! I've given up trying to work out the ups and downs on the FTSE; however it's apparently all down to an improvement in mining stocks, at least today anyway. Despite this stellar performance my portfolio stayed fairly neutral, though it did just manage a small rise of around £10 to bring my account value up to £1030 (can't really complain). So I'm £260 in profit, at least until tomorrow! Some big gainers and losers in my portfolio today... Both SPIRENT COMMUNICATIONS (another long time share that's been languishing on the sidelines) and PETRA DIAMONDS LTD managed a sterling 7.5 point gain. Biggest loser today was TT ELECTRONICS PLC down a disappointing 5 points, especially as this has been performing magnificently in recent weeks; but then very few shares just continue upwards indefinitely - this one is just having a 'breather' before further rises (I hope!). All in all a fairly good day with the IG INDEX futures currently showing +13 points (for what that's worth). Another day without any stop outs and, because I'm at home this week, I managed to raise quite a few stops which is always nice. One new contract executed today: SIRIUS MINERALS PLC opened at 8.7 (£5/point with a stop at 5.7) and is currently -£2.38. Here's to more gains tomorrow... Big Al |
