I opened a new account with IG Index a few days ago. Mainly because they are the biggest spread betting company in the UK and I think have the widest range of instruments on offer.

I've been playing around with the spread betting platform and I've activated the advanced charts feature. The advanced charts are provided by IT Finance, who also writes ProRealTime, and it's basically proRealTime that you see. You can write new indicators, screeners basically do everything you can in ProRealTime from within IGs advanced charts. Obviously the charts are live streaming prices so no need to signup to proRealTime when you can get it in IG index for free. You need to make at least 2 trades a month to get it free otherwise it costs £30 a month. The first month is free as a free trial.

There is also something called Autochartist. From what I can make out this finds price patterns in charts and lists them. Personally I don't think I'll be using this feature but still good to know it's there.

If you want to check them out click the Tools button at the top right of the pureDeal platform. This will load a separate window where they are listed. You need to activate advanced charts before you can use them but the instructions on how to do this are on the site.

I just wanted to share this as some people may not be aware of the features that IG Index has on offer. If I find out anything else of interest I'll let you know.
