CFDs a brief history
CFDs started in the United Kingdom in the 1980s as a way for institutional banks to hedge their exposure to the financial markets. Contracts for difference was adapted from the institutional market place and brought to the general public in the 1990s so that retail investors can also indulge in the benefits that CFDs have to offer.
